Really, Do We Always Need Something “Special”?

There is so much advice all around us so many instructions on what to do and what not to do. Become better, change, adapt, no, stay true to your own perspective. Who should we believe? What should we follow? What should we change? Should we look simple while being rich inside with knowledge and skills, or look extravagant while leaving inner richness in the background?

Is There Always Something More

When we present ourselves, is it really expected that there must always be something more not just what is clearly there, but some hidden depth, some ability that can’t be seen right away? As if we must create a kind of intrigue. But do we always need to be intriguing? From observing the world around us, this idea is promoted and constantly highlighted, but does it truly align with human nature?

Belong

We are part of everything around us. We are, and will remain, part of the people of this earth privileged to be here, to grow, and to develop. And yes, society matters: without it, nothing exists. It is the environment where we either have to show ourselves or simply be. Psychologically, each of us needs a place to belong, a piece of society where we can find support. And then the question appears: are others always expecting something more from us, or is it enough that we simply exist?

What Could Be So Special

Of course, everyone has their own little “spark.” It reveals itself over time slowly, naturally and what is unique in each person becomes visible. That special quality can attract attention and create a kind of surprise, even admiration. But is it required? Everything is relative, because we can only recognise the special in others as deeply as we are able to notice and understand what is happening around us.

We all have our own “measuring scales” for what we call special. Is the special thing- a beautifully presented meal? Is it the ability to communicate with anyone in a polite and respectful way? Maybe the special thing is the ability to be genuine and to see good in everything. We value it individually, we recognise what feels close to us. In the end, the impression remains that “special” does exist, but each of us decides what it is and whether we truly need it.

It's All Subjective

Do we have to prove that we are special, or should we allow it to reveal itself on its own? No one is ever in harmony with everyone, and no one can ever be good for everyone, there are too many opinions, too many expectations, too many ideas of what “should” be. That’s why “special” is subjective, and it truly appears only in the environment where it is meant to appear.

Sometimes It's All Simple

We shouldn’t pressure everyone to perform, to stand out, to prove themselves. Everything is a process and at first it may not even be noticeable that genuineness is the truly special thing: special with a capital S. And in today’s world, genuineness has become rare.
